Bamboo Coral is the fossilized root of the bamboo found on dried-out seabeds where bamboo once grew. It is not a true coral, but a natural product with a bamboo-like structure. Due to the decay and the effects of salt and iron, the bamboo has fossilized into a white or yellow resin. It is often dyed red and polished to mimic the appearance of the protected red coral and serves as a natural and more sustainable alternative the that coral.
