“Tourmaline” is the name of a large group of boron silicate minerals. These minerals share a common crystal structure and similar physical properties – but vary tremendously in chemical composition. The wide range of compositions and colour zoning within crystals causes tourmaline to occur in more colours and colour combinations than any other mineral group. Because of this great diversity in colours Tourmaline is so easy to combine. Tourmaline is one of the world’s most popular gemstones and it serves as a birthstone for the month of October.

This colourful Tourmalin necklace (4mm faceted beads) is very easy to combine with any colour of your clothes! The pendant (2.7cm total length) is a “slice” of the melon Tourmaline, pink from the inside and just a little green line on the outside of the pendant. Made with black patinated 925 Sterling Silver in the beads I used in between. The necklace is 46.4cm long and has a 925 Sterling silver lobster clasp.
