Iolite, which is also known as Cordierite, Dichroite, and Water Sapphire, is found in Brazil, Madagascar, Burma, and India. Colours of Iolite range from blue, brown, grey to green, yellow, or violet. Its a stone that takes users on an inner path to their deep inner self. It is both a third eye chakra and a throat chakra stone. Iolite is not a traditional birthstone for any month but it is the natural birthstone for people born in winter solstice i.e. from 21st December to 19th January.
