A beautiful harmony between the yellowish tones of the Ethiopian Opal beads (3mm and 8mm) and the faceted 6mm Andalusite beads in the warm transparent brownish tones.  There is a lively fire in the Opal which unfortunately is very difficult to catch with a camera. This necklace is combined with Goldfilled beads and lobster clasp and has a length of 45cm

Precious opal mined in Ethiopia began entering the gem and jewelry market in 1994. Opal from this area occurs in a wide range of body colors. Much of the opal has a brown, red, or orange body color; however, yellow, white, and clear body colors are also found. Ethiopian Opal is birthstone for october.

Andalusite is named for the locality of Andalusia, Spain where it was originally discovered. Andalusite occurs as brown, red, white, orange and green crystals. The gem quality crystal is translucent to transparent. Andalusite offers balance in your life. It grounds and stabilises, maintains balance and finding your centre in times of adversity.  It is found in commercial quantities in the Inyo Mountains California in the USA, Kazakhstan and in South Africa.
